Tips For Making Your Meditation More Effective

  • Sitting cross legged on a cushion or pillows on the floor is best practice. If you can’t because of physical restrictions or limitations, please feel free to find a position that works for you.

  • Leaning against a wall or lying down is not recommended.

  • Check your phone is on silent and that no pets or people will come and disturb you.

  • Feel free to place a blanket across your lap or wrap it around you.

  • If you need to move or change position, please don’t reactively do it - sit with it for a minute and then move as little, as consciously and as slowly as possible.

  • Give yourself plenty of time to wake up, go to the bathroom, grab a drink etc before the session. Entering a meditation feeling rushed is counter productive.

  • Remember there is no “good” or “bad” meditation” so leave your expectations behind and please don’t compare any sessions, or to other people's experiences.
